Application FAQ
Questions About Applying
Does applying cost anything?
No. Submitting a request through Riverstone is free, and you’re never obligated to accept an offer. A legitimate lender won’t ask you to pay a fee before you receive a loan.
Will submitting a request affect my credit score?
Lenders in our network typically use a soft credit check to show initial offers, which doesn’t affect your score. If you accept an offer and complete the lender’s application, the lender may run a hard inquiry.
Who decides whether I’m approved?
The lender. Riverstone is a marketplace, not a lender. Each lender reviews your request and decides whether to make an offer and on what terms.
How fast could I get the money?
It depends on the lender you choose. Many online lenders fund within a few business days after you accept an offer and verify your details.
What if I don’t get an offer?
You can still look at alternatives, such as a payday alternative loan from a federal credit union, a payment plan with the company you owe, or free advice from a nonprofit credit counselor.
Please borrow responsibly. Rates, fees, terms and availability vary by lender and state, and not every applicant will qualify. Late or missed payments may lead to fees, collection activity and harm to your credit.
